Smith Mag Rocks

Met Larry Smith (guess where his magazine's name came from?) the other night at a shindig for the snarky environmental news and commentary site, Grist. Love his site. Love it more ever since he gave us a nice shout out. --Anna

The Future is Green. Find it There.

Tired of treehugger being a dirty word, my friend Graham Hill decided to make it his one-man mission to reclaim the term for the hip earth-loving among us. Now, treehugger.com is the one-stop shop for everything green, with reviews (we like this one) and recommendations for modern yet green products and services. Graham's other claim to fame? Maker of the coolest cups you'll ever find. --Anna

Meatrix II/Sneak Peek

Moopheus, Leo, and Chickity are back in action in The Meatrix II: Revolting. I just returned from the premiere, where the three heroes walked the red carpet for a big crowd at the Bowery Poetry Club. Like the first installment, The Meatrix II takes on the industrial agriculture octopus. This time zeroing in on the dairy industry and its environmental and human toll. Like the first, the team at Sustainable Table provides you with hands-on things you can do to take action and choose healthy alternatives to industrial dairy. Revolting officially releases tomorrow, and if it's anything like the first, it will be watched by more than 10 million people around the world. The timing couldn't be better. Just last week, The Cornucopia Institute released its first Organic Dairy Report, so we can know whether we're choosing milk that was sustainably produced, or whether its producers just want you to think it was. Visit Sustainable Table's Eat Well Guide for more resources.
